Meaning “lioness” in Persian, The Shirzans are an all-woman band from Boston, MA.
The Shirzans made their mark and hit the ground running in the summer of 2018, performing all along the East Coast, from Boston to Washington D.C. to New York City. In a male-dominated industry, The Shirzans are using their voice to take down the patriarchy. Their debut single, “Hunt,” was released on July 10th 2019, the one year anniversary of their first gig together. The single, an empowering feminist anthem, is the title track of their independently written and produced debut EP, which received high praise from the notable music publication, Earmilk, and can be streamed/purchased here. The Shirzans exist to change the narrative, break down the stereotypes of the music industry, and create music that represents aspiring musicians and artists like themselves.
